Jinx Thinks:
I’ve never been able to be off leash at the beach before! At first I was the only dog there, but eventually some friends came along and we got to run and splash in the water! I had a blast and definitely came home tired! I can’t wait to go back!
Our Thoughts:
We were so excited to find a specific beach for dogs here on Long Island! Be sure to bring plenty of fresh water, and be advised there are no bathrooms on the premises. There is also hardly any shade, but a big floppy hat or bringing an umbrella does the trick! There are a bunch of plastic chairs to sit in, or bring a beach towel! We three had a wonderful time and are very excited to go back. The only downside we could pick out would be the garbage. There was a garbage can when we were there, but still there were pieces of glass and plastic around the beach. We just picked up and threw out anything we saw, if we all do that the beach will be outstanding!
Fun Facts & Sights to See:
- Know Before You Go: This is what’s called a “Natural Borders” park, which means there is NO fencing, etc. the park is surrounded by water and plant life, which creates the boundaries
- Fun Fact: Long Island’s only OFF LEASH beach for dogs!
- Helpful Hint: Bring your own water! There are no amenities like running water, bathrooms, etc. here, so anything you or your dog will need you should plan to pack!
