Dogs on leashes are permitted on the premises of this star-shaped fort that dates back to the 1840’s!
The fort was occupied by the US Army through WWII and was the only refugee camp in the US for mostly Jewish victims of the Holocaust under an Executive Order from President Franklin DeLano Roosevelt.
