3.4 miles of paved trail connects Setauket to Port Jeff. Forest, Meadows, Business districts, parks, farmland, and the Stony Brook University campus are connected by this trail. There are a few hills in parts, and road crossings.

Upcoming events: a future rail-trail project is underway about a mile east of the Setauket Greenway. This will go into the hamlet of Wading River.
A greenway is a path of protected open space used for conservation and recreation. Motorized transportation is not permitted on greenways.
